Mondays are Family Day and I just wanted to share my excitement with you. I’ve been working on my geneology for quite a few years off and on and I felt I needed to jump back into it. I joined Ancestry.com a couple of weeks ago and I’ve already found tons of generations back that I didn’t have before.
My mom’s side of the family was always hard to find. Her maiden name was Smith. I couldn’t get past my great-grandfather.I decided to start looking on her mothers side again, and wow, I hit the jack pot. I found ancestors back to the 1300’s. Someone who had a common ancester had already found or paid a company to trace that line. I was able to merge it with my records in a matter of minutes.
How exciting to be able to discover where we came from, what our ancestors were like, where they lived, etc. That whole line came from Ireland and Scotland. If you have any desire to find your ancestors and trace your family tree try out Ancestry.com. It is so rewarding! We spend one day a week with just family to help strenghten that bond.
We chose Monday so my blogs on Monday will be about family. Enjoy your day, April
Great-Grandfather Gragg on my mom’s side.
